Margie Hunter joined the Parents Television Council Board of Directors in 2014 after many years supporting the organization.
She brings unique expertise in volunteerism, fundraising and public relations to the PTC.
Her longtime interest in children’s issues began when she was a teacher for 4th and 2nd graders in Jefferson County, Colorado. She has served as President, Chair or Co-Chair on various charities including: Tiny Tots concerts with the Denver Symphony Orchestra; Four Mile House, an historic education project for all 4th graders in Denver Public Schools; Children’s Theatre Project – a partnership with DPS and Junior League of Denver; Designer Showhouse Project which raised funds for the Denver Symphony Orchestra (which became the Colorado Symphony Orchestra); The Brown Bag Benefit for The Gathering Place (women’s day shelter); The Gathering Place Association, a support group for the day shelter; and The Colorado UpLift Guild, a support group for the program at large.
Currently, she is a Board Member of Colorado Uplift – a non-profit mentoring and counseling program for needy children in DPS, now being replicated in other major U.S. This program currently works with 4,800 students.
She is also a Board Member of The Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado, which supports charitable programs (such as Catholic Charities) of the Archdiocese and other mostly local programs for the needy in the Denver community.
Margie is married to John Davis Hunter, President of Financial Designs, Ltd. in Denver and the proud mother of three grown daughters and grandmother of seven grandchildren.
