PTC Mourns Passing of Dr. James Dobson

LOS ANGELES (August 21, 2025) – The Parents Television and Media Council (PTC) mourns the loss of Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family, who passed away today.

“Dr. Dobson was a courageous leader who championed the family and was instrumental in helping generations of families raise their children. We shared common ground when it came to protecting children from harmful sexual, violent, and profane content on television. We offer our sincere condolences to Dr. Dobson’s family and to all who knew him. He leaves a tremendous legacy,” said Melissa Henson, Vice President, Parents Television and Media Council.
