In this made-for-TV movie, a road trip teaches a daughter-in-law about the importance of family. Savannah Sunrise Network: INSP Airdate: Sunday, June 26, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00 p.m. Central/Mountain Starring: Shawnee Smith, Pamela Reed Recommended age: 5+ Overall PTC Traffic Light Rating: Green Loraine Miles is an elderly widower who is faced with moving away from her long-time home and church into a retirement community. When Loraine mislays her plane ticket, her type-A businesswoman daughter-in-law Joy reluctantly agrees to drive Loraine to her new home several states away – even though Joy is faced with a major business project which she must finish over the weekend, or lose a big account. Joy is repeatedly aggravated by Loraine’s seemingly carefree manner; but Loraine is facing her own doubts and fears, not least a failing memory. But during the road trip with Lorraine – which includes frequent bathroom breaks, several stops by police, a disastrous dinner, and a close encounter with an alligator – Joy learns the value of time and family, while Lorraine also makes a choice about her future. INSP’s second original made-for-TV movie, like their first, is a delightful family-friendly film filled with both humor and heart-warming moments. Alienated at first, the characters grow to accept, then like, then understand and love one another, with both learning valuable lessons about life in the process. Because of its family-friendly values, the Parents Television Council is proud to award Savannah Sunrise with the PTC Seal of Approval®. The PTC recommends this movie for viewers over age five.
