In this cooking show with a difference, State Plate follows Hicks as he “eats [my] way across America, one state at a time,” always searching out the ideal cuisine of each state – be it Maryland crab cakes, Wisconsin bratwurst, or Georgia peach pie. In each episode, Hicks works with local farmers, fisherman, cooks, and bakers to help make each food on display, whether that entails catching and cracking crabs, picking peaches, or milking cows and making cheese.
