Rosewood Is An Updated Quincy

Rosewood1 Another coroner-turned-cop arrives on the airwaves. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. is an unusual man. He is in great athletic shape, though he has a life-threatening disease; and he is unfailingly upbeat, though he knows he will go deaf in a decade. With his sister Donna and her girlfriend Kathy, Rosewood runs a “private pathology consultantcy” -- meaning he is essentially a high-priced freelance coroner. Rosewood’s vast medical knowledge and uncanny ability to deduce details of a crime from forensic evidence make him a useful helper to the police, particularly detective Annalise Villa, who is alternately impressed, charmed, and exasperated by Rosewood’s cheerful interference in both her cases and her private life. Another of TV’s “oddball detectives,” Rosewood is also a bit more violent than some, with autopsy scenes (though not as graphic as those on CSI), some rough language, and a bit more bloodshed of the usual action show variety – shootings, stabbings, fistfights, and the like – than the average, though not enough so to concern squeamish viewers. Rosewood premieres Wednesday, September 23rd at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Fox.
