This "Cheers" spin-off follows barfly Frasier Crane post-divorce, as he uproots his life in Boston to return to his hometown of Seattle, Washington and embarks on a new career as a radio psychiatrist. Swapping beers at the bar for lattes at the cafe, Frasier reenters the dating pool, takes-in his cantankerous father and his caregiver, and rebuilds his relationship with his brother.

In a major departure from other NBC sitcoms, Frasier usually gets its laughs with wit, not vulgarity. On the down side, premarital sex is depicted as an integral part of dating in the '90s.
