This series focuses on six friends in their twenties and thirties -- three men, three women -- as they pursue career and social success in Manhattan.

During its original run, Friends was one of the raciest sitcoms in prime time. In a very real sense, it set the tone and direction for every sitcom that has come since. All six regulars have been sexually promiscuous, and dialogue has contained vulgar language and explicitly sexual content; topics like condom use, premature ejaculation, and the erotic use of handcuffs have served as joke fodder.

The show frequently uses off-color language, like "bitch" and "ass."
